This is a comprehensive list of Detroit Diesel engine fault codes. Includes fault # and a brief description of the fault. 13 – The coolant level sensor is defective. Wires or connectors.
14 – The coolant level sensor is defective. Wires or connectors.
14 – The oil temperature sensor, wires or connectors are faulty.
15 – Defective temperature sensor o / w or oil temperature sensor, wires or connectors
16 – The coolant level sensor, wires or connectors are faulty
21 – Throttle position sensor, wires or connectors defective
22 – Throttle Position Sensor, Wire or Connector Faulty
23 – Fuel, wire or connector temperature sensor is faulty
24 – Fuel, wire or connector temperature sensor is faulty
25 – No active codes
27 – Inlet manifold temperature sensor, wires or connectors defective
27 – The ambient temperature sensor, wires or connectors are defective
28 – Inlet manifold temperature sensor, wires or connectors defective
31 – Motor brake, wires or connectors defective
32 – Malfunction of the STOP ENGINE / CHECK ENGINE warning lights, wires or connectors
33 – Turbocharger pressure sensor, wires or connectors defective
34 – Turbocharger pressure sensor, wires or connectors defective
35 – Oil pressure switch, wires or connectors defective
36 – Oil pressure switch, wires or connectors defective
39 – EGR system malfunction
41 – Crankshaft Position Sensor Bottom, Cables or Connectors Defective
42 – Crankshaft Position Sensor Bottom, Cables or Connectors Defective
43 – Low coolant level
44– High temperature of oil, coolant or air in the intake manifold
45 – Low oil pressure
46 – Low voltage supplied for powering the ECM motor
47 – High Intake Manifold Pressure
48 – Low Intake Manifold Pressure
52 – ECM motor fault
53 – Engine ECM Fault
54 – Vehicle speed sensor, wires or connectors defective
55 – J1939 data line, wires or connectors are defective
56 – Data link line J1587, wires or connectors are defective
57 – J1922 data line, wires or connectors are defective
61 – Pump injector, wires or connectors defective
62 – Open or short-circuit the auxiliary output wiring with ECM motor
63 – Open or short-circuited auxiliary input wiring in the ECM of the motor
67 – Intake manifold pressure sensor defective, wires or connectors
68 – Defective idle switch (gas pedal), wire connectors
71 – Injection pump, wires or connectors defective
72 – Exceeding the maximum permissible engine speed
73 – Transmission failure of the vehicle associated with the ECM of the engine
75 – The vehicle’s voltage is higher than the permissible
76 – Exceeding the maximum permissible engine speed with the engine brake on
77 – High fuel temperature
81 – Defective pressure or temperature sensor in exhaust gas recirculation circuit
82 – Defective pressure or temperature sensor in exhaust gas recirculation circuit
83 – High differential pressure or high exhaust gas recirculation temperature
85 – Exceeding the maximum permissible engine speed
86 – Barometric pressure sensor defective
87 – Barometric pressure sensor defective
